July 12, 13, & 14, 2018 Mooring CG, Belfast Maine

July 12, 2018

Enjoyed the good weather. Spent some time on the beach and Kasey kept us entertained with her antics.

I think I'll stand on the table next to my treats!

Later that evening I cooked veggies and meat on the grille. It looks like a lot but is enough for two nights dinner and maybe even some lunch.

Began the weekly clean-up. Defrosted the fridge, grocery shopping and then out to dinner at Angler's.

The food is reasonably priced and delicious. We both got fish & chips and really could have shared ,

July 14, 2018

Today is our last day here. It is  cool compared to the rest of the week. The big turn over has been happening the last two days and we have new neighbors once again.

Tonight we met Linda and John in Rockland for dinner. They just came up to Maine for a week in New Harbor. We met half-way at Archers on the Pier. The food was great as was our visit with Linda and John.

Someone drove up in this oldie!

Hi Linda

It was a fun evening. Back at the CG our neighbors to the left, Irma & Howard invited us to sit by their campfire. We chatted until around 10 pm then headed back in to settle down for the night. We will be leaving in the morning for Pine Grove CG in Medway, Maine.

July 8, 9, 10, 11, 2018 Leave Tom's arrive at The Moorings Campground , Belfast, Maine

July 8, 2018

We were up early and had a very delicious party  pancake breakfast with Tom, Tiffanie & Adeline. The maple syrup we used was Tom' home made syrup that he tapped from his own trees and is really good. Sat outside and talked then took on the task of closing up the MH for travel. Everything went smoothly except for,  of course, the leveling jacks. They have been causing problems for some time now but are getting worse. Will definitely need to address them when we get back home.

We left Limington at Noon. It was an uneventful drive but longer then we had anticipated. We arrived in Belfast at 3 pm. Once here we settle in to site 43 for the week. We had tried to secure a spot on the water but there were none available.

It was a quiet night here and we slept really well. This morning we took Kasey for a walk on the beach. She really enjoys the beach and jumping in the water. We met some very nice people from Connecticut and walked with them and their dog. Mickey. Kasey and Mickey got along just fine, at least for today. LOL

We enjoyed spending the day sitting by the camper enjoying the views of the ocean. That night Ron put the light sensor in the toilet that Tiffanie had given us. It was promoted on Shark Tank and is pretty cool for night time bathroom visits. It even changes colors. Thanks Tiffanie!

It also has a rose color that is quite pretty. LOL.

July 10, 2018

We spent another leisurely day sitting  around our site enjoying the good weather. Kasey has found herself a great spot under the picnic bench much like Jewel did, expcept she likes a blanket to prop herself on.

We did have to run out to get new bulbs for the light over the sink today , but other then that we stayed put.

Walking the beach is very calming and we did that at least four times today. It is not a beautiful beach but  a typical Maine rocky  beach that fits our needs.

Ron got into trouble today with the guy that maintains the property and also the manager. There is a specified dog walking area that we have been bringing Kasey to. Today Ron went up on the hill a little further then he was suppose to and was reprimanded by the lawn guy. There were some words and the lawn guy called the manager. Ron and I have seen multiple people walk their dogs on the grass up the hill but Ron is the only one that was called out for it. The management team is new and their rules have rules. Ron did mention to the manager that all day the lawn guy has been watering the flowers with the truck used to pump septic systems. It is very loud and the guy ran that thing for over two hours. This is our third time here and the only time we have felt uncomfortable. The people we met on the beach told us that there was a note left on their door telling them to move their mat because it was on the grass. As I said, new, intense management.

July 11, 2018

It was a cool night and great sleeping weather. This morning it started out dreary but cleared and the sun came out.

I was doing laundry this morning and was in the bedroom when I was overcome with a rancid sewage smell. I could hear water running and thought our new washer had somehow malfunction or our septic system had overflowed. After checking inside I noticed that the smell and pouring water was coming form the MH to the left of us. The couple just bought the MH and their balck water tank backed up and the waste was coming out  of the vent on the roof of he MH. YUCK! They were frantic. Ron went over to try to help them but to no avail They have a big blockage issue and need to have it professionally fixed. This is only their second trip out and they have already destroyed their awning and put a huge scrape in the side of the MH. They have a huge learning curve ahead of them.

We took a ride into downtown Belfast hoping to spend some time at the Farmer's Market. Unfortunately it was closed. Instead we walked along the ocean and enjoyed looking at the boats and yachts.

We thought about purchasing this one but it is out of our price range. LOL

We walked through the boat yard and saw a beautiful sailboat being  repaired.

On our way back through the boatyard we stopped at an ice cream shop and had some great ice cream. Ron had some weird banana monkey nut ice cream  that he actually liked. I stuck to a more conventional  brownie nut chocolate ice cream.

We walked around town and stopped into a shoe store where Ron picked up a pair of new Teva sandals. It is a small quaint town with some old , pretty structures.

On the way home we stopped at Perry's Nuthouse hoping to get some fudge or anything bad to eat. LOL  We each got a sample of fudge and determined that was all we needed.  No nuts or fudge bought today. BUT - we did have to get  a picture of Ron with a statue! LOL

We went for a ride and checked out some of the smaller local towns. Then it was back home to enjoy the rest of the evening. We thought about taking a ride to Bar Harbor  but have been there too many times so opted out. The same for Acadia. Not sure what tomorrow will bring but probably more of the same.

July 6 & 7, 2018 Visit to Tom, Tiffanie & Adeline - Limington, Maine

June 6, 2018

We were up early this morning. Finished packing the MH and were on the road by 10 am. The traffic going through Boston wasn't too bad. Only one slowdown due to a car broken down in the middle lane. Once past that it was smooth sailing.

We stopped at the New Hampshire rest area for a quick bathroom break . Ron noticed that the check light was on the fridge. It is a combo electric/gas that is suppose to automatically change over to  gas when disconnected from electricity.  HMMM - what now!

Ron did some investigating and could not get the gas to work. We decided it could wait until we got to Maine.

We arrived in Maine a little after 1 pm. We were greeted by Tiffanie, Adeline and their two dogs Beau and Beans. Tom was at work. We weren't sure how Kasey was going to get along with their two dogs.  True to form she greeted them both with barks, growls and snarls. Their barks were bigger and soon they were getting along just fine.

Once settled,  Ron attacked the issue with the refrigerator. He used everything in his arsenal of options to see if he could get the fridge to work on gas but to no avail. It is running on electricity so that is good.

We had lunch with Addie & Tiffanie and spent the afternoon catching up.

Tom arrived home around 5:30 pm and we went out to dinner to a Chinese buffet. Back home we sat out and enjoyed  the evening. It cooled down considerably resulting in great sleeping weather.

July 7, 2018  Limington  - 4th of July parade and fireworks

Ron had suggested I run the stove burners to see if that would clear the gas lines of air and resolve the refrigerator issue. I could not get the stove burners to work. I told Ron and he immediately checked to see if the propane had been turned on. It wasn't! DUH -problem solved. When he had the propane filled the guy replaced a check valve and forgot to turn the propane back on. In twenty years this has never happened so Ron didn't think to check if that could be the issue. .

Tom is deeply ingrained in the Limington Fire Department, even though that wasn't his initial plan. He was off to the fire station early this morning to do something involving the parade.

Later that morning we attended the parade. It was a pretty good parade for such a small town.

Tom driving the ATV at the end of the parade.

After the parade we went to the car show with Tiffanie and Adeline.

Ron wants one of these - a Rat Rod????? It looks like something out of Mad Max.

Later we had a delicious dinner cooked by master chef Tiffanie. Teriyaki chicken, rice and a vegetable dish that looked like quiche but was even better.

Adeline waiting patiently for dinner.

After dinner we sat outside and enjoyed the good weather. Tom had to leave again because he was doing fire detail at the fireworks.

Kasey won Tom's heart. He said he is keeping her. NOT! LOL

Tiffanie was doing doggie poop detail and she came back with a dead wood rat!

At dusk we drove into town and set up for the fireworks. For a small town it was quite the display.

Can't really tell in the pictures but they were really good. We haven't been to a fireworks display in several years so really enjoyed them. Tom got caught up in an accident of some kind after the fireworks so we didn't get to see him that night before bed. It was a fun day for all of us.
