We have been extremely fortunate to have had such a beautiful week here on the Cape. Having a camp site right on the Cape Cod Canal is amazing. The stairs are right across from our site and we are on the canal in less then a minute. Kasey has been loving it as well and looks frowrd to her long walks.
Wes was feeling better this morning so they decided to join us for dinner later today. When they arrived I took a look at his right leg. Ginny had told me it was hot and swollen but Wes didn't want to go to the doctor. He felt it would clear itself. Indeed it is swollen and red. It looked like a cellulitis of some sort to me and I told him he should see a doctor ASAP. He said he would call his PCP in the morning.
We had an enjoyable visit and a great meal. Shis-ka-bob, scallops, macaroni salad, regular salad and brownies for desert topped off the menu.
After dinner we chatted for a while. I thought it might be a good idea to check Wes's leg and foot again. Well, in the 4 hours that they were here visiting his leg got much worse! The edema and redness had worsened and his toes and foot were badly discolored. He had a hard time standing on that foot and was in obvious pain. I suggested that an ER visit was in order and they were on their way.
Around 11 pm Ginny called to let me know that Wes was being admitted for IV antibiotics. Thankfully he agreed to go to the ER. I think the change in his leg and foot scared him. He has quite the infection going on and will be in the hospital for a few days.

I spoke to Ginny this morning and Wes told her his leg looks a little better . Will be seen by ID sometime today.
We decided to take a ride into Hyannis today for lunch and ate at Tugboats at the Hyannis Marina.
Forgot to get before picture but the after picture says it all! LOL
Later we took another walk on the canal and ran into what we thought was a dog or seal swimming in the water.
It turned out to be driftwood that looked eerily alive!!!!
Tomorrow is our last day here at Bourne Scenic Park. It has been a good week and very relaxing. Tonight we talked to Wes and he is doing better. He was seen by ID and will be on IV antibiotics for the weekend and may be able to go home on Sunday. Things are looking up.

This morning several campers pulled out and a group of young people pulled in across from us. There are multiple trucks and cars and also a very large stereo system that has been set up. We think our quiet time here has come to an end!
It rained a good part of the day today. The first inclement weather we have experienced this week. We spent the morning inside but did manage to get a walk on the canal during an afternoon break in the rain.

As we expected, last evening it got very noisy and loud here. Kids screaming and music blaring from our new neighbors. The elderly man across the way told Ron he din't sleep all night because of the loud music. So much for the multiple rules that are not enforced here.
Before leaving this morning Ron had to fill in two holes that Kasey had dug under the MH.
The ride home was short and uneventful. Once home we unpacked and settle in. We will be leaving again in two weeks for Maine. Another adventure awaits us.
